Hey guys just would like some advice on what colour splash back i should get. I have cs cashmere and laminex moleskin cupboards. Our kitchen is sort of like a u shape and its really long. We would need a lot of splash back. I really want a glass splash back and is wondering if red would look ok? Nothing in the house is red.... Do i need to accessorise the other areas to match the kitchen? I found this red kitchen picture and fell in love with it. Tell me what ya think.

The red does look pretty good! But I am no expert of interior design. On Foxtel Lifestyle channel there is a program 'Selling Houses Australia' and there are plenty of tips on how to or not to decorate your house. Check out their website:

Hi mate I reckon that looks pretty funky. The wife says something red in the dining area would really kick it off, ensuring that the splash back is the feature ! Something as simple as some red placements would probably do the trick ? That being said if Allworth told me our Kitchen would look like that I'd jump at it in a heart beat...ha ha....our's won't be quite as good as that but any improvement on what we have currently.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I would say is consider if you'll get the impact you want for the size and shape of the space. The picture above is open planned for a start and the space looks like the bench on the main wall is around 3m? If your kitchen will be anything like mine you won't see the red from the family area, and the main area under the cupboards is maybe 1.7m wide??? In an overall light space this little patch being a bold colour might not have the same impact you are after. In saying that I love red, even a deeper wine against those soft muted tones, so really do whatever you think is right.
ReplyDeletethanks for advice, will be doing the splashback after handover so will see what the size the kitchen ends up. :)
